Prevention of contamination and self-care are also discussed during phlebotomy training since phlebotomists are at a risk for blood borne-pathogens due to the nature of their job. Classroom discussions include anatomy particularly of the circulatory system and physiology. The coursework of phlebotomy training further includes emergency procedures, preparations for testing and improvement of communication skills.
